Simple rules when watching an SDK  game:
  • Let the coaches coach. If you are telling your son  – or any other player for that matter – to do something different from what the coach is telling them, you create distraction and confusion.
  • Outbursts from parents on the sideline made toward the referees only signal to our own children that they can blame the refs for anything that goes wrong. Blaming others is not a formula for success in sports.

  • Yelling out comments such as "Good call, ref" or "Thanks ref"  shows superficial support because the call went ‘your’ way  and is simply annoying to the officials, and to anyone within earshot.

SDK used survey monkey following the 2008-09 season to find out its strengths and weaknesses.     We also want to thank our partners,  The Athletic workshop. for sponsorship.   Get an edge on training at  www.athleticworkshop.com.

SDK expanded to third grade in 2007-2008.   Our club, in only our second year in the Dayton Metro League, won the 4th grade league and season ending Metro Tournament !

In 2006-2007, SDK had 112-players compared to 36-players in the 2005-2006 season.

SDK  expanded in 2006 following a decision by Kettering Cobras club to concentrate their efforts on public school players.  This decision forced SDK to provide an alternative program where players in these grades could play select basketball.

SDK donated $5,000 to Alter H.S. to help pay for safety straps and a new wireless system to raise and lower the side baskets in the main gym.
